Frost Miller Group Launches 2-Year Marketing Campaign for MINExpo INTERNATIONAL® 2012

Early notice allows megashow exhibitors plenty of time to plan and assemble booth space.

BETHESDA, MD―July 20, 2010―September 2012 might seem like a ways off to most people, but for Frost Miller Group (FMG) and the organizers of MINExpo INTERNATIONAL® 2012 at National Mining Association (NMA), there’s no time to waste for show promotion.

The quadrennial trade show will be held in Las Vegas, September 24-26, 2012. It showcases the latest equipment and technology and offers education on safety, efficiency, and other mining industry topics. More than 30,000 people from more than 100 countries will visit the 500,000-square-feet of exhibit space at MINExpo.

“It’s a huge show. MINExpo is the show where many of the exhibitors unveil new products and services so the lead time is very important for planning purposes. In addition, the exhibitors bring the very large equipment and the logistics associated with the set-up takes a lot of time,” explains Moya Phelleps, senior vice president at NMA.

FMG launched the exhibitor marketing campaign in June and started design on the 2012 website. It will begin to promote the show to attendees in 2011.

This is the third MINExpo for which FMG is handling promotions. The last expo, in 2008, saw nearly 40% increases in attendance and exhibit space.

“A lot of the 2008 strategy will be rethought,” says David Irish, senior vice president at FMG. “Whereas then we primarily focused on print ads, direct mail and email, for this show we’ll add more video, web and other digital marketing techniques into the mix.”
